David Hart’s Arrival Series marks a deliberate attempt to engage the audience in a social commentary, revealing Australia’s history through pictures.

These images not only depict the arrival of white man onto Australian soil and the impact that it had on the indigenous owners, but also draws the viewers attention to the real heroes of Australian history, the indigenous people and those among them who rose up in resistance against what was nothing short of an invasion.

David’s hope is that his images of the real side of Australian history would not condemn us, but inspire us to learn from the past and awaken us to the opportunity we now have to shape the next 200 years.

This body of work is considered by David to be one of his most significant to date and is part of an ongoing journey to explore Australian history and how it shaped the Australian spirit.
