David has a love for telling a good story and a deep passion for both Australian history and folklore. He finds there is no better medium to express this than with the earthy tones of a paintbrush and oils, or the rich colours of gauche washed and scrumbled over thickly textured watercolour paper.

Growing up in the outback mining town of Broken Hill, in far western New South Wales Australia, has enabled David to not only experience, but to also absorb the rich colours and depth of the Australian landscape.

It’s with this knowledge and experience that David has a seemingly effortless ability to transport his viewers inside each image. Evoking memories of days gone by engaging his audience with observations of Australian life.

His outback series are often humorous but at the same time very reflective of his heritage and fascination with the Australian spirit.
